Apr 23, 2016

Residents in County Durham are being advised that there will be no changes to their bin collections over the two May bank holidays.

People should continue to put their bins out as usual during both bank holiday weeks – commencing Monday 2 and Monday 30 May.

Refuse, recycling and garden waste bins should be left by the kerbside by 7am on their normal collection day.

Anyone who is unsure what day to put their bin out can download a collection calendar by entering their house number and postcode into the My Durham section of the council’s website – www.durham.gov.uk

Anyone who would like to subscribe to garden waste collections should visit www.durham.gov.uk/gardenwaste

Information is also available by contacting 03000 261 000.

Customer access points will be closed on both bank holiday Mondays – May 2 and May 30 – and they will re-open at 8.30am on the Tuesday mornings.

Residents in Stanley are advised that their new customer access point will open on Tuesday 3 May at the Louisa Centre. An office will be located within the customer access point where births and deaths can be registered by appointment.
