Behind The Business Puts Forum in Front

The people behind some of North Tyneside’s businesses are taking centre stage in a new podcast series designed to shine a light on the pathway to success.

“Behind the Business” brings together business owners and professionals from across the borough to talk openly about their experiences, challenges, lessons learned and the realities of running a business.

Rather than focusing solely on business advice or success stories, the podcasts aim to get beneath the surface and discover the real people behind the organisations, their journeys, the obstacles they have faced and the experiences that have shaped them.

Hosted by Jamilah Hassan of JH Property Connect, the series combines her passion for people and community engagement with a genuine interest in the stories that make North Tyneside’s business community unique.

Complementing her on each podcast is a member of the Forum’s management team helping to create a relaxed, informal conversation that allows guests to share their experiences in their own words.

The 11-episode line-up includes business owners including Paul Pringle of Solarglide, Terry Christie of Scaretech and menopause coach Cheryl Tanner. Together, their varied backgrounds and experiences offer a broad perspective on the people, pressures and personal journeys that sit behind businesses of all kinds.

Angela Tuplin, Chair of the North Tyneside Business Forum, said:

“We have an incredible range of businesses across North Tyneside, but behind every business is a person with a story to tell.

“Running a business is about much more than figures, targets and success. It involves challenges, difficult decisions, unexpected opportunities and lessons learned along the way. We want these podcasts to give people the chance to talk honestly about those experiences and let others get to know the person behind the business.

“The idea is also to keep the conversation going between our Forum events, helping people feel more connected to the local business community. By sharing these stories, we hope to celebrate the diversity of businesses across North Tyneside and encourage more people to get involved.”

The podcasts will be released weekly on the North Tyneside Business Forum’s website and YouTube channel, with the first release on Wednesday 21st October. All 11 episodes were recorded at North Tyneside Council’s new podcast studio in Howard Street, North Shields, which is free to use

The series is part of the Forum’s wider work to bring local businesses together, encourage connections and provide opportunities for people to learn from one another through shared experiences.

The North Tyneside Business Forum is led by a management group made up of members from various industry sectors in the Borough and gives support in the form of networking, events and signposting for growth and development. Membership is free and open to any business of any size with a trading address within North Tyneside. The Business Forum is supported by but not run by North Tyneside Council.
