middlesbroughFREE energy advice sessions are being held across Middlesbrough over the coming months.

Middlesbrough Environment City – in partnership with Cleveland Fire Brigade and CSV-RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Programme) – will be helping people to keep warm and save money into the bargain.

The advice sessions will be held at Community Hubs and other locations throughout the town until March as part of the Big Energy Saving Network.

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)-funded initiative was launched to help householders and front line workers access energy advice and reduce energy costs.

Working together locally, people are encouraged to take action on power company tariffs, switch suppliers and take up grant-funded energy efficiency measures.

The informal sessions will be held mainly in the five local Community Hubs at Thorntree, Grove Hill, Easterside, North Ormesby and Newport Settlement.

The project will be officially launched by Middlesbrough MP Andy McDonald at Newport Community Hub on Friday, November 14.
