A SIX-MONTH programme to encourage fuel efficiency in Middlesbrough households is to be launched.
Middlesbrough Environment City will be working in partnership with Volunteering Matters and One Planet Middlesbrough to deliver advice and sessions on switching power companies.
The Big Energy Saving Network is a Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) funded initiative.
It aims to support eligible organisations and community groups to deliver energy advice sessions to householders and frontline workers to help the reduce energy costs through action on power company tariffs, switching and the take up of fully funded efficiency measures.
The free informal sessions will be held mainly in the five community hubs at Thorntree, Grove Hill, Easterside, North Ormesby and Newport Settlement and alternative venues will be used depending on demand.
The sessions will be between one and two hours and refreshments will be provided.
Anyone wishing to attend a session should contact their local community hub.
