Mary Jo Randle, star of ‘The Bill’, ‘The Lakes’, ‘Cutting It’ and ‘Wolf Hall’, sets off on a National Tour of one-woman comedy ‘Big Pants and Botox’ in March taking in theatres up and down the land.
First seen on TV alongside Victoria Wood, Mary Jo is no stranger to comedy, but is perhaps better known for more ‘weighty’ roles such as DS Morgan in ‘The Bill’ and leading roles in TV’s ‘Inspector Morse’ and ‘Midsummer Murders’.
“Big Pants and Botox”, from the pen of ‘Girls Night’ writer Louise Roche, tells the story of optimistic, loveable Barbara who has just celebrated a ‘significant’ birthday. During the course of the show she takes us on a funny, intriguing and ultimately uplifting journey.
Along the way we meet numerous characters who play a part in her life from her overly critical mother, to her hilarious, slightly flawed group of female friends.
“Big Pants and Botox” has proved a hit both in the UK and America where one reviewer said: “In Louise Roche’s brilliant script, Barbara lives in between mother and daughter, hello and goodbye, who will prompt everyone to proclaim, “I know her!” By the show’s end, you will love her! If you loved Beaches, The First Wives Club, Steel Magnolias, then see Big Pants and Botox.”
Don’t miss what is sure to be a tour de force from one of TVs familiar faces.
