A beacon was also lit in John Whitehead Park by Billingham Town Council.

Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees Councillor Ken Dixon, said: “It was so good to join residents of the Borough last night to commemorate Her Majesty’s 90th birthday and recognise the extraordinary service she has given the country for more than six decades.  We are looking forward to further celebrating her contribution in her ninetieth year with our ‘A Right Royal Celebration’, a fun-filled street party taking place on Stockton High Street on 12 June.”
