A POETRY workshop will get the Crossing The Tees Book Festival underway in Middlesbrough this weekend.

The annual event is taking place across all five Tees Valley local authority areas and Middlesbrough’s activities start at Central Library with Rare Birds – Voices of Holloway Prison.

The poetry session takes place from 1.30pm-4.30pm, costs £3, and is hosted by Natalie Scott with the aim of creating poetic voices for historical figures.

Participants will be encouraged to create their own convincing voices and there will be an opportunity to receive feedback on their work.

Crossing the Tees Book Festival is organised by the library services for Stockton, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Darlington and Redcar & Cleveland.

 For more information on the Crossing the Tees Book Festival or to book places on any of the events visit www.crossingthetees.org, call Arc’s booking office on 01642 525199 or visit Arc on Dovecot Street, Stockton.
