Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce the signing of second row Jake Brady from Harrogate RFC. The current ‘Gate skipper joins DMP having amassed more than 200 appearances in over 8 years at the club. Mowden Park Director of Rugby Danny Brown was delighted with the signing: “We’ve been keeping our eye on Jake over the last couple of seasons, he’s a very physical player with a great attitude. He’s proved he’s a real leader and a true club player having led Harrogate for a number of years. Jake’s taken this opportunity to play at a higher level and I’m excited to see what he can do at Mowden.”

Having previously played for Pontefract before joining Harrogate as a 20 year old, Brady was excited at the prospect of playing National One rugby next year: “I am looking forward to the challenge of competing for a first team shirt in what is a strong squad of players. National 1 is shaping up to be a really exciting league next year, I am inspired by the prospect of going away to the top teams in the division and recording victories.”

Brady becomes the third new recruit ahead of the 17/18 season, joining scrum half Matt Dudman (Rotherham Titans) and fellow lock Dan Preston-Routledge (Yorkshire Carnegie). The 28-year old insisted that he was already preparing for the challenge ahead: “I am currently training hard and putting in the hours to make sure I am moving towards peak shape for the start of the season.”

Fans can see Jake and the rest of the DMP squad in action next season by joining the Mowden Family and purchasing their 2017/18 memberships.
