ONE of Tyneside’s best loved breweries is rolling out a unique festive event for shoppers next month (December).
Heaton-based Anarchy Brewery’s Christmas market is set to return on Friday 5 December – from 4pm to 11pm, giving shoppers, beer lovers and foodies the chance to celebrate the very best of Tyneside produce, design and crafts.
More than 20 stallholders have signed up to take part in the night market – which is held in support of West End Food Bank – selling everything from jewellery to art, clothing and skincare.
And visitors to the child and dog friendly market will also be able to grab something to eat – including vegan and vegetarian dishes – from street food vendors Rebel Crust, The Greekster and Divine Caribbean.
Among those taking part are Anarchy’s sister company Dot Bagels, which will be serving a selection of the filled, grab and go, cold bagels on offer at its Jesmond and Chillingham Road outlets.
Vegan pasties and pastries will be on sale courtesy of Smashin Pasties, sweet treats from Bay Fudge and Moonpebble’s Delights and Italian-style sub rolls from Belly of the Beast.
And, for four legged friends, The Dog Grocer will be providing everything from food to accessories and toys.
Jewellery will be on sale at Urban Silver and Lucent Permanent Jewellery, with alternative jewellery and gifts from Studio of Acrid and a quirky range of handbags from Romantic Outlaw.
Goodness Gracious Green Co will be bringing their natural, handmade skin balms while KM Glassworks and D&A Leatherworks will be showcasing their design skills and craftsmanship.
Better Town Clothing will be selling a range of tees, totes, beanies, socks with
shirts, prints, jumpers, wall hangings, and stickers available at Romy Prints and crafts will be on offer from crochet and macramé experts, Hookd in Heaton.
Witch-themed décor, incense and burners will be on sale at Rebel Wax Co, while
Anarchy will also have a stall selling its beer gift sets – including limited edition Xmas Chaos and Alan Shearer Foundation Brew gift packs – and its own range of branded t-shirts and merchandise.
Scott Nendick, Taproom Manager at Anarchy Brewery, said: “If you’re looking to gift something a bit different, but that really embraces skill and quality, then you’ll be able to find it here.
“We have a wealth of small, independent businesses here on Tyneside and the market is a great chance to find out about them, support them and purchase something really special and unique – and it’s a great evening with fantastic food and, of course, beer.”
Vendors have all agreed to donate a percentage of their profits from the event to the West End Food Bank and made donations in lieu of a stall fee. There will also be a collection point for visitors to drop off donations.
