British Basketball League: Rocks secure Commonwealth starlet

Radisson RED Glasgow Rocks have secured the services of Scotland International Fraser Malcolm for the 2019-20 BBL Season.
Malcolm, who has spent the last four seasons playing in NCAA 2 for Black Hill State University, was a key part of the Scotland team who finished 4th in the Commonwealth Games. And whilst a new face in Glasgow, the Falkirk native is familiar with many of the Rocks core – having played with Jonny Bunyan & Ali Fraser through the Falkirk Fury system and having played alongside Gareth Murray & fellow new signing Earl Russell whilst representing Scotland and Great Britain U20s respectively.

Upon signing, Malcolm said: “I’m really excited to be joining the Rocks and coming home to play basketball in Scotland. I’m very fortunate to be a part of such a great organisation with such a supportive fan base. I can’t wait to get on the court and have a great season!”

Coach Lavandier was also delighted to bring in his latest Scottish Forward: “In my desire to build a team with the maximum of UK players, I really wanted Malcolm’s signature who played in U20 selection for Great Britain with Earl Russell.

“He is also a player on the Scottish national team in the Commonwealth Games. Malcolm arrives from NCAA 2, where he has achieved high-quality course finishing at 16 pts – 43% at 3pts – and 6 Rebounds. His shooting skills and his knowledge of international games will be a plus for the Rocks. And I know it will be very well advised daily by our Captain Gareth Murray to densify his game.”
