British Basketball News: Opening night of BBL produces BIG results

The opening night of the 2019-20 BBL season produced some BIG results.

Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks took a 16-point away victory against Manchester Giants, 80-96. Rocks were lead to victory with a combined 48-points from Greg Pryor and Ali Fraser, along with an additional 17-points from Eli Pepper.

Meanwhile, behind a double-double from Josh Ward-Hibbert and a whopping 10 assists from Kyron Cartwright, Leicester Riders took a big 75-54 win over B. Braun Sheffield Sharks.

Probably the biggest result of the night came in the form of scratch team Worcester Wolves defeating 2019 BBL Cup champions London Lions with a empathic 92-67 win.

It didn’t take long either for the first overtime game of the season to happen, as Bristol Flyers were able to pull ahead of Surrey Scorchers and secure a 107-99 overtime win, with Gentrey Thomas racking up an incredible double-double of 35-points and 11 rebounds.

Someone else who racked up 30-points, and an additional 11 assists, was Newcastle Eagles mainstay Rahmon Fletcher, leading Newcastle Eagles to a 97-68 opening home game victory over Cheshire Phoenix.
