Two more concerts have been announced for this year’s Mouth of the Tyne Festival, in North Tyneside.
Bryan Ferry and Will Young will perform evening concerts at the spectacular Tynemouth Priory and Castle in July.
North East born Bryan Ferry, CBE, influenced a generation with his music and style. As a solo artist and Roxy Music front man, he achieved number one albums and top 10 singles, with hits including Love is the Drug, Dance Away, Slave to Love and Let’s Stick Together. He will perform on Thursday 7 July.
The following night, on Friday 8 July, multi-million selling Brit Award winning singer-songwriter Will Young will perform. He will bring his hits and songs from his new number one album, ‘85% Proof’.
The news comes as tickets for James Bay, who’s also playing as part of the festival, sold out in less than a week.
North Tyneside Elected Mayor, Norma Redfearn said “We are absolutely thrilled to bring such great artists to North Tyneside to perform. We hope that the profile of these concerts will help boost the economy and increase tourism to the borough, too.”
The Mouth of the Tyne Festival, now in its twelfth year, has welcomed a vast range of household name artists to North Tyneside including Paul Weller, Beverley Knight, The Script and James Morrison. International street entertainers are once again expected to take to the coastal village to entertain visitors and residents.
The Mouth of the Tyne Festival is organised by North Tyneside Council and supported by Kier, TyneMet College and Port of Tyne.
Kier regional director, Mike Furze, said: “It is a great honour to be supporting the Mouth of the Tyne Festival for a sixth year running. The line-up for the festival once again looks excellent and I know the people of North Tyneside will be in for a fantastic few days in July.”
Tickets will be available on Friday (February 5), from 9am, at www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
