Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Business opportunities up for grabs as build-to-rent apartment scheme welcomes residents

The city’s first build-to-rent development is opening up opportunities for local businesses after welcoming its first residents and hosting an official launch event, attended by leader of Newcastle City Council Councillor Nick Forbes.

Standing tall on Forth Banks in Newcastle and the only one of its kind in the region, a milestone moment for the development has seen residents move into the first phase of 45 apartments.

The development promises a luxury living experience with first class amenities and perks and once all three blocks are complete, will comprise 283 one, two and three-bedroom purpose-built rental apartments.

To offer added value and convenience to residents’ lifestyles, local businesses are being invited to come forward with partnership opportunities.

The Forge wants to hear from start-ups to established companies such as laundry and cleaning services; pet sitters and groomers as the whole development is pet-friendly; beauticians and hairdressers; personal trainers and fitness instructors who would have access to a fully equipped gym and studio area; healthy meal prep suppliers and more.

The team are also prospecting hospitality venues, unique ventures and retailers as part of plans to host regular social calendar events, including pop-up bars, creative workshops and mini street food festivals in its club lounge and outdoor courtyard.

Additionally, ideal for small businesses looking to branch out into a new location or have a presence in Newcastle for the first time, prime Quayside retail space of approx. 3,000 sq. ft. on the ground floor of the development is currently on the market.

Speaking at the launch event, Councillor Nick Forbes said: “The Forge fits with Newcastle’s journey to further develop the city centre into an attractive and enticing option for investors. Our city is one with a range of housing needs and this development perfectly complements them. I’m looking forward to seeing how the development flourishes in 2019 as part of the regeneration of the Stephenson Quarter and wider city improvement schemes.”

Helen Douglas-Teggart, letting manager at the Forge said: “We’re excited to have welcomed our first residents and are actively seeking businesses to express their interest in coming on board as a recommended supplier or events partner. Once all moved in we will have over 500 people living with us, so it’s a great opportunity for companies of any size to market themselves.”

The Forge is being delivered by Moorfield Group and professionally managed by leading UK property consultant Allsop.
