Cairn Group strengthens industry status with new membership and accreditation

Premier hospitality operator Cairn Group is bolstering its meetings and events credentials by becoming HBAA accredited and a member of the Meetings Industry Association (MIA).

Making the commitment to the industry and high standards of professional practice comes as the group is investing in its meetings and events offering, including facilities, training and menu development.

A total of 17 of its properties have joined the MIA, in turn gaining AIM accreditation; a national standard for venues signalling quality and professionalism.

These include branded properties as well as a selection from The Cairn Collection, the group’s portfolio of 10 signature hotels in iconic UK locations comprising the likes of Royal Station Hotel in Newcastle and Stoke Place in Buckinghamshire.

Additionally, Cairn Group has become a member of HBAA; a mark of quality assurance for the hospitality sector, championing best practice.

This membership applies to all of its venues, consisting of 33 hotels and more than 30 bars and restaurants across the UK, including the BCEC in Birmingham which this month welcomed its 100,000th conference delegate since its high profile opening in 2016.

Tina O’Hara, group director of sales at Cairn Group said: “Our properties each have their own characteristics and qualities making them unique and inspiring venues, hosting awards, conferences, meetings, corporate functions and special occasions year-round.

“Our dedicated teams are committed to delivering events to the highest of standards, echoed by our membership and accreditation with the MIA and HBAA. Our meetings and events offering is a key focus area for the business, and we’re working hard to enhance operations across all of our properties with some exciting developments on the horizon.”
