THE North East’s leading bakery and dessert delivery service will be giving diners the chance to have their cake and eat it, as part of Sunderland’s first Restaurant Week.

Sweet Tooth Delivery in High Street West will be among around 50 restaurants taking part in the inaugural event which will be held from September 24 to October 2, showcasing the eclectic range of food on offer in the city.

During the week-long event, Sweet Tooth Delivery will be running three special offers from its city centre shop, giving visitors the chance to eat cake and save money.

Kayley Smith, retail and marketing director, is excited that the firm is going to be involved in the event. “As soon as we heard that Sunderland was to stage its own Restaurant Week we knew we wanted to get involved,” she said.

“Since opening our city centre store the response has been incredible and it has far exceeded our expectations.

“This week is a great chance for regular and new customers to enjoy what we have to offer.”

Eat Drink Sunderland Restaurant Week is being led by Sunderland BID, and chief executive Ken Dunbar is delighted to welcome Sweet Tooth Delivery to the initiative.

“Sweet Tooth Delivery is one of Sunderland’s newest places to eat and really is unique. The selection of cakes and desserts on offer is just incredible and for those who haven’t been, this will be a perfect chance to try it,” he said,

“The whole idea behind Eat Drink Sunderland Restaurant Week is to highlight the diverse range of restaurants that the city has and the level of response we’ve had has been amazing. “It’s just another way of us being able to showcase that Sunderland has a really thriving and vibrant city centre.”

Sweet Tooth Delivery’s offers include a £5 daytime deal, where diners can enjoy any cake and hot drink, or any cheesecake and shake for a fiver.

There will also be two evening deals, two waffles and two soft drinks for £10 and a £15 offer of either any two cakes and any two brownies or any four brownie batters or cookie doughs. All offers are for dine-in customers only.
