Capita’s North Tyneside Partnership has been given the seal of approval by Investors in People (IIP) for how it looks after its staff.

It has been an accredited Investors in People (IIP) organisation since 2013 but was recently reassessed against the IIP’s challenging new management standard.

Capita entered into a partnership with North Tyneside Council in November 2012 to deliver a range of technical services, such as engineering; property; planning; building control and public protection.

There are almost 300 employees within the North Tyneside Partnership, which operates from the council’s headquarters on Cobalt Business Park and an office in Killingworth.

The Partnership has previously been granted Investors in Young People status thanks to its focus on bringing both graduates and apprentices into the business.

Capita’s Partnership Director Richard Carmichael said: “This is good news for the partnership between Capita and North Tyneside Council.

“The well-being of staff is a top priority, which makes Investors in People accreditation really important to us as it demonstrates our commitment in this area.

“The assessment process has helped us to identify what we’re doing well and provides us with a positive platform upon which we can build and move forward.”

The IIP assessment took place between November 2016 and March 2017 and included a staff survey and interviews.

Strengths identified during the assessment included the approach to performance management, the support available for graduates and apprentices plus the perception among staff of senior managers.
