A couple from Catterick will be enjoying their dream honeymoon thanks to the Bannatyne Darlington hotel.
Jamie Cooper (42) and Dani Biggins (31) booked their September 2020 wedding at the hotel and were amazed to receive a call to say they had won a £5,000 honeymoon voucher in a competition that ran across the Bannatyne hotels.
The couple, who have two children aged 13 and seven, are now busily planning a ‘once in a lifetime’ trip to the Caribbean, without the children, to celebrate their marriage.
Jamie, who has been in the Army for 24 years but plans to leave before the wedding to embark on a new career in Civvy Street, and Dani, who works at County Hall in Northallerton, made the decision to tie the knot during a period of Jamie’s leave from his deployment in Cyprus.
Dani said: “I really didn’t believe it at first. You don’t usually hear about people winning competitions like this but when it sunk in, we were overwhelmed.
“It has taken so much pressure off our budget and it really will be a once in a lifetime holiday.
“I’d been to the Bannatyne hotel for functions previously and we really liked the room and the facilities, and the location is perfect for both our families.
“Jade at the hotel has been amazing helping us to book and organise our big day and I can’t thank her enough. The honeymoon really is the icing on the cake and will give us something to remember for the rest of our lives.
