Friday 8th June 2018 will see Cattle & Cane perform live at Middlesbrough Town Hall for their biggest ever headline show. The special concert will see Cattle & Cane performing alongside the Northern Orchestra at the all-seated 1,174 capacity event. Tickets are priced at £22.50 (+ booking fee) and go on-sale at 10am on Monday 18th December via www.cattleandcane.co.uk and from the Town Hall Box Office on 01642 729729 or www.middlesbroughtownhall.co.uk/
Rob Guest, Business Development Manager at Middlesbrough Town Hall, explained, “We’re really delighted to have Cattle and Cane coming to the Town Hall for such a special gig. They’ve had some great gigs in Teesside over the years, and this collaboration with Northern Orchestra promises to be really incredible. Add to that the fact that it will be one of the first gigs in the newly refurbished Town Hall, and I think we’re in for a wonderful night. We can’t wait.”
Led by siblings Joe and Helen Hammill, Cattle & Cane have had a phenomenal year which has been brought to a close with an impressive run of 11 consecutive sold-out headline shows across the UK. Heading into 2018, they’re understandably relishing the opportunity to perform live alongside an orchestra at their biggest ever headline show.
“Having the opportunity to headline Middlesbrough Town Hall, especially alongside an orchestra, is genuinely a dream come true for us and we hope to see lots of familiar faces there” said Helen. “We’re so lucky to have such a supportive fanbase and we’re constantly blown away by the amazing crowds we get across the country – there really is no better feeling than hearing people sing your songs back at you” she added.
The band’s manager, Henry Carden, said, “This will be Cattle & Cane’s biggest ever headline performance and after selling-out The Empire and Teesside University for their last two Middlesbrough shows, the Town Hall is the perfect venue for them to continue their progression.” He added, “It’s going to be an amazing show in one our town’s most beautiful buildings and having the Northern Orchestra on-board will make this such a unique event. I’m sure I’m not alone in being unbelievably excited about hearing Cattle & Cane’s music live with string, brass and woodwind sections for the first time.”
Formed in 2015, Northern Orchestra seeks to produce the highest quality orchestral music using the most outstanding musicians from the North of England. Northern Orchestra director Michael Lamb said, “After conducting Cattle & Cane’s last orchestral endeavour for a VEVO video session, I’m thrilled to bring Northern Orchestra along with me this time to perform these brand new arrangements live at Middlesbrough Town in-front of a music loving audience.”
Over the past 12 months, Cattle & Cane have picked up national radio plays from the likes of Elton John (Beats 1), Dermot O’Leary (BBC Radio 2), Frank Skinner (Absolute Radio), Janice Long (BBC Radio 2), John Kennedy (Radio X), Gary Crowley (BBC London) and Tom Robinson (BBC Radio 6 Music), as well as extensive support from Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing, who recently syndicated the band across every regional BBC station as their Artist of the Week on the Georgey Tonight show.
2017 has also seen the band record a live session for Vintage TV and be added to the BT TV music playlist, as well as featuring on shows such as Sunday Brunch, Made In Chelsea and The Only Way Is Essex. Further media support came with coverage in The Independent, The Sun, Metro, Music Week, Record Of The Day, Clash, The Big Issue and many more.
With the addition of brand partnerships with Barbour and Vauxhall, Cattle & Cane continue to pick up the kind of critical acclaim that most unsigned bands can only dream of.
On Spotify, recent singles Love On Your Hands, 7 Hours and Saviour have accumulated over 2 million streams and featured in playlists such as New Music Friday UK, Your Coffee Break and Feelgood Pop. Meanwhile over on Deezer, the band have also featured in the respected weekly Brand New UK playlist.
It’s on the live stage where Cattle & Cane really come into their own and their recent headline tours have seen ‘sold-out’ signs pop up across the UK. Further tours in 2017 with The Head and The Heart and Jake Isaac, as well as support slots with Brian Wilson and Tom Odell have enabled Cattle & Cane to continue to grow their audience – a following which helped propel sophomore album Mirrors into the top 20 of the Official Independent Album Chart back in May, thanks in part to a successful PledgeMusic campaign which hit 280% of its original target.
