With World Environment Day (5 June) just around the corner, now’s the time to think about greener ways to travel and what better way to do this than by ditching your car for two wheels? COCO-MATBIKE.UK is passionate about sustainability, which is why they’ve created a range of the world’s most sustainable hand-crafted wooden bikes, which are as eco friendly as they are iconic.
Each COCO-MATBIKE.UK is lovingly handcrafted in Greece using sustainable wood (plantation-grown American ash to be precise), which has been sourced from certified renewable forests. Each adult ash tree provides enough wood to make 50 beautiful bikes and a tree is planted for every adult bike sold. The bikes are also CO2 negative and carry a minimal design, lending themselves to offering nature’s imprint on an urban landscape.
Thanks to COCO-MATBIKE.UK, all the family can enjoy sustainable cycling. Children can choose from a balance bike or two children’s bikes, while adults can enjoy the Mentor folding bikes (in 2 and 5 speed options), the Penelope (ladies bike), or the Odysseus (men’s bike), both of which are also available as e-bikes.
COCO-MATBIKE.UK’s planet friendly wooden bikes have an ergonomic design, are compact, and are made from premium parts to ensure effortless cycling, allowing for a smooth ride across all road surfaces.
It’s not just leisure cyclists that can enjoy a greener way to travel. COCO-MATBIKE.UK has recently partnered with Cyclescheme to help increase the number of people making the journey to work by bike. The cycle-to-work scheme is an employee benefit that enables working adults to save 25-39% on the cost of a bike and cycling enthusiasts will now have access to COCO-MATBIKE.UK’s iconic wooden bike collection. These sustainable bikes allow commuters the option to enjoy an eco-friendlier way to get to work, therefore helping to contribute to a greener economy, while enabling them to live a healthier lifestyle.
Dimitri Philippou, CEO COCO-MATBIKE.UK, says: “Sustainability is important to us every day, but with World Environment Day coming up, it’s a great reminder that we can all do our bit to help protect the planet for future generations. Our sustainable wooden bikes and e-bikes are just one small way that we are helping to ensure a better future for all to enjoy. By partnering with Cyclescheme, we hope to help to increase the number of people making the journey to work by bike, which will not only improve public health, but will contribute to a more sustainable transport system, something we’re proud to be a part of.”
