John Richards picGeorge Osborne’s financial plans for the next parliament will be going under the microscope at RMT Accountants & Business Advisors’ annual post-Budget breakfast event.

More than 200 North East business leaders are expected to gather to analyse the implications of the Chancellor’s final Budget before May’s general election at Newcastle’s Assembly Rooms onFriday 20 May, two days after the contents of this year’s Budget are revealed.

Led by RMT directors John Richards and Anthony Andreasen, the free breakfast event will cover the issues arising from the key announcements on corporate and personal taxation, business investment and tax planning, and how individuals and companies should be acting in response to them.

John Richards, director at RMT, says: “The final Budget before a general election is traditionally the time for the incumbent Chancellor to talk up their record in office and pull a few rabbits out of the hat in an attempt to sway the public towards their political cause.

“However, with the public finances remaining very fragile and the focus very much on the further austerity measures required to get rid of the deficit, it’ll be very interesting to see latitude Mr Osborne can find for himself while still sticking to his much-vaunted long-term financial plan.

“The insight and ideas we’ll be sharing with our guests at our Budget event will be designed to help to guide them and their businesses through into the new financial year and beyond, and we’re also looking forward to getting direct feedback from our audiences on how they view the Chancellor’s plans.”

A limited number of places at the Budget seminar are still available.  For further information, please email marketing@r-m-t.co.uk or call Denise Hosking on 0191 256 9500.
