Teesside-based autism charity, Daisy Chain is staging its first-ever full-service user musical performance at ARC – Stockton Arts Centre from 19th – 21st July.

As part of the organisation’s Rising Stars Project, funded by Children in Need, a cast of neurodiverse young people will take to the stage to showcase their talents, from singing to acting and dancing in the musical comedy show, Bugsy Malone.

Performing Arts Coordinator, Michael Foster said: “Our young people have been working tirelessly for months to put together this performance. For the majority, this is the first time that they will have ever performed on stage, as they often don’t get this opportunity in other settings.

“They are very excited and cannot wait to show the world this production and the hard work that has gone into it.”

Head of Children’s Services, Jennifer Hewitt said: “Daisy Chain’s Rising Stars Project was introduced to mitigate the harmful and far-reaching impact of COVID-19 on autistic children and young people through the medium of performing arts.

“It has been a fantastic addition to our service offering, giving the children and young people who access it the chance to express their personality, boost their confidence and self-esteem and improve their social skills.”

Tickets for the performances are free, and the show is open to the general public. Book tickets: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/cc/bugsy-malone-19th-21st-july-2022-237619
