Screen Shot 2016-03-29 at 08.14.18Talented nail artist Charlotte Vizor has designs on a beauty therapy career after winning a national industry competition.

The 23-year-old was representing the North-East in the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists UK final at the Winter Gardens complex in Blackpool, after winning the regional final in Gateshead last month which 14 schools and colleges competed in.

And Charlotte, from Bishop Auckland, once again came out top, beating competitors from across the country with her commercial design on the theme of glamour.

Charlotte, a Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology student at Bishop Auckland College who is tutored by Adelle Garnett, said: “I can’t believe that I won but very glad I did. Competing is really fun but winning is even better. I am definitely looking forward to competing again.”

Geraldine Metcalf, area manager for hairdressing and beauty therapy, congratulated Charlotte on her achievement: “Charlotte produced an outstanding ‘glamour themed look’ in the commercial nail art category at the North East regionals and the national finals at Blackpool and was deservedly awarded first place for her freehand work. We are very proud of Charlotte’s skills and wish her all the best with her future business plans.”
