Chester-le-Street Remembrance parade

Screen Shot 2015-11-02 at 11.57.24Soldiers who lost their lives fighting for their country in both world wars and other conflicts will be remembered at the war memorial in Chester-le-Street on Sunday, 8 November.

Marking the occasion, a parade will begin at Park View Community School entrance on Church Chare at 10.30am, continuing to High Chare and Front Street and arriving in the Market Place for the start of a service at 10.45am in front of the war memorial in the market place.

The two-minute silence takes place at 11.00am with the service, conducted by Reverend David Tully, finishing at 11.15am. People are invited to follow the route and gather at the Market Place to pay tribute at the memorial.

The Scout Band will lead the parade, followed by various local uniformed organisations, who will lay wreaths.

Along with local councillors, the Chester-le-Street and District Area Action Partnership will continue to support Chester-le-Street and District War Memorial Group who will organise future Remembrance Sunday parades.
