Children from Local Hospice Enjoy a Festive Day out at Teesside

Children from local hospice, Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice, joined Teesside staff for a festive celebration on Monday [December 19th] where they took part in an Elves’ Workshop to create festive decorations and enjoy Christmas cakes and muffins provided by Costa.

Zoë’s Place is a charity based in Middlesbrough which provides palliative, respite and end of life care to babies and infants from birth to five years old who suffer from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

This year, local shoppers at Teesside have raised more than £10,000 for Zoë’s Place. It has also collected more than 250 gifts throughout November and December for children at the hospice, as part of its Give a Gift scheme.

Elaine Dunning of Zoë’s Place Children’s Hospice said: “The Elves’ Workshop was such a fantastic day out, it was great to see all of the kids have a laugh and get into the Christmas spirit.

“Teesside has long been a supporter of our work and their charity efforts this year have just been phenomenal. We’re looking forward to working together in 2017 and for many more years to come.”

Mike Clarke, Centre Manager for Teesside, said: “It gives us great pride to support local charities like Zoë’s Place and help local families.

”We’ve been a partner to Zoë’s Place for more than a decade now and we’ve managed to raise a record amount of money this year which is such an achievement. We’d like to thank all of our shoppers who’ve donated and really helped to make a difference.”

Opened in 1991, Teesside offers a wide range of dining, leisure and retail experiences, with stores including Next, Marks & Spencer, Boots and much more.
