Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Screen Shot 2015-10-09 at 14.47.27ONE of the North East’s most treasured venues is set to serve a seasonal feast of treats to guests this Christmas.

Throughout December, four star Lumley Castle Hotel in Chester-le-Street will be hosting a series of traditional Christmas Afternoon Tea dates for visitors looking to get into the spirit of Christmas, in a food-filled festive setting.

Guests will receive a glass of mulled wine upon arrival at the 600-year-old castle, before being served a choice of specialist teas, assorted finger sandwiches, scones, festive cakes and mince pies.

The Ladies of the court of Lumley will then conclude the Christmas Afternoon Tea experience by singing traditional Christmas carols to guests.

The Christmas Afternoon Tea package is just one of many events being held at the castle this Christmas alongside the venue’s annual Christmas bazaars, murder mystery nights and their famous Elizabethan banquets.

“The Christmas Afternoon Tea package has been really popular this year,” said Lumley Castle’s Director of Sales, Nola Collinson.

“Lumley Castle is always a magical place at Christmas but we’re hoping that our Christmas carollers will help add that special touch to what is set to be the perfect festive afternoon.”

For those keen on joining in the festivities, Christmas Afternoon Tea will take place between 1.30pm and 4pm on 6, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22 and 23 December. Those wanting to dine on Christmas Eve can do so between 1pm and 3pm.

Tickets are £20 per person and include a glass of mulled wine on arrival.
