Christmas Bookings up at Newcastle Racecourse

39CHRISTMAS has come early at Newcastle Racecourse with bookings for festive party nights up by 50 per cent on this time last year.

This year, the racecourse has reported an advanced growth in sales of its Christmas party nights with four of the six evenings on offer selling out to the general public and businesses in record time since going on sale.

In total the party night series from Friday, December 04 through to Saturday, December 19 will offer approximately 5,500 guests the chance to enjoy some stylish festive cheer in the Grade II listed Brandling House building, with gourmet hospitality and live music from bands including The Shakedown Band, The Monologues and Hip Operation.

The luxurious black tie evening at the racecourse’s 1200 capacity Christmas Marquee has also sold out but places are still available for Friday Disco Nights on December 04 and 18, which includes a sparkling reception cocktail, festive carvery, Grande Dessert table as well as entertainment from the racecourse’s resident DJ.

Steven Gill, owner of Gill and Schofield Chemists Ltd, has rebooked Newcastle Racecourse’s Christmas party night in December for the sixth year running, along with 97 members of staff.

He said: “The Christmas party nights at Newcastle Racecourse always provide a great opportunity for staff to celebrate the festive season together, plus it’s a great team building opportunity.  Throughout the years I’ve found everybody has enjoyed different aspects of the evening whether that has been the fine food, live band or disco tunes.

“As the company expands year on year, we book up early to guarantee a table as I don’t think we’d find anywhere else in the region that caters for all our needs.  We’ve never been disappointed with our choice of Christmas venue and we’re looking forward to this year already.”

Emily Armstrong, events manager at Newcastle Racecourse, said: “The response we have received to date to our Christmas party nights from the general public and businesses alike has been really encouraging, showing that companies still see real value in rewarding staff.

“It’s clear from our booking intake that our Christmas parties have captured people’s imaginations once again with many rebooking year on year.  December is an expensive month but by booking early you can avoid that last minute panic and guarantee a great festive night out.”

Ending Newcastle’s festive season with a flourish is the Northumberland Chase Christmas Raceday on Saturday, 29 December with the popular carvery hospitality package still available.
