In December 1507 (Chester-Le-Street) Squadron received an early Christmas present from our local Councillor, Mrs Tracie Smith, who allocated funding to purchase a trailer!
The Squadron applied for a £2000 grant which was accepted and has enabled us to purchase a Squadron trailer. This means we can take more cadets away on trips as we no longer have to use up much needed seats for luggage!
Councillor Smith attended the Squadron early last week to inspect the item that she had helped us purchase and also had time for a quick photo with Flight Lieutenant Mathew Burton RAFAC, Officer Commanding 1507 (Chester-Le-Street) Squadron.
Councillor Smith said, “It was nice to be able to help the Squadron purchase this much needed piece of equipment. I have been involved with 1507 Squadron since the beginning of the year in the capacity of their Honorary Squadron President. I am proud to associate myself with such a brilliant youth organisation. I am a big supporter of the Cadet Forces and it is great to see such accomplishments being achieved by the young people in our community.”
Flight Lieutenant Burton said, “We are really thankful to Councillor Smith and her team for accepting our grant application and providing more opportunities to the Cadets under my charge. This trailer will enable so many more cadets to gain new experiences and support our vision for the future. Going forward we are looking at our Cadet numbers to grow exponentially and this trailer will play a huge part in supporting that progression.”
