This sees the Science Central firm join a select group of companies worldwide who have gained the specialisations, one of the network giant’s highest levels of recognition.

To achieve the Express Security Specialisation, Calibre demonstrated expertise in selling, designing, and installing the Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Next-Generation Firewalls. This series of enterprise-class networks features next-generation firewall capabilities such as Application Visibility and Control (AVC), Web Security Essentials (WSE), Intrusion Prevention (IPS), and Virtual Private Networking (VPN).

Expertise in providing a high-quality Cisco network experience also secured the Advanced Core and WAN Specialisation. This opens up access to a raft of training and development tools to enable Calibre to boost the performance, security and reliability of the Cisco core, WAN, and Intelligent WAN (IWAN) solutions provided to customers, delivery cost savings and other benefits to cover future infrastructure upgrades.

The success follows work by Calibre engineers to deliver the highest level of satisfaction among the company’s Cisco customers, further strengthening its position as a leading network solutions supplier.

The awards also reflect the firm’s proven network sales capability, skills’ set and service capability as it supports education and public sector customers across the UK.

This latest success strengthens its commitment to Cisco, and working towards achieving Partner status and associated core competencies. It also sees the firm recognised as achieving the specialisation in the Cisco Partner Locator.

Calibre, which saw a 30% growth in sales in the first quarter of 2016 and is on track to break the £1m barrier within three years, now has access to exclusive and extensive Cisco services as it looks to continue differentiating and building its brand in a highly competitive sector.

Steve Nelson, operations director at Calibre, said: “This is a further step on the road to building a high quality network capability and reputation for service excellence, backed by an outstanding team and the best technology available.”

A spokesperson from the Cisco Channel specialisation team said: “We value the ongoing commitment and expertise that Calibre has demonstrated and look forward to a successful partnership.”

Under Express Security Specialisation – NGFW, Calibre will be able to tap into the Channel Partner Program Welcome Kit to benefit from partner status and access a range of resources to secure business. The Advanced Core and WAN Specialisation sees participation in partner events and live webcasts alongside access to a number of training resources.
