An award winning North East boutique hotel is opening its historic doors to the region’s brides-to-be.
The Cleveland Tontine, situated near Northallerton, is expanding its services to offer and cater for weddings, after having been granted its full licence.
Dating back to 1804, the unique inn has always been a popular venue for low key wedding receptions, thanks to its elegance and charm, but the new licence means it will now be able to offer couples the whole wedding experience.
Eric Kortenbach, general manager, believes the history of The Cleveland Tontine is a big attraction for making it the ideal setting for the perfect wedding.
He said: “I believe the appeal of the Tontine is based on its rich history and on people knowing the place and having very fond memories of the time they have spent here.
“We always get exceptional feedback about both the food and service and on top of that, the building, as it is quirky and unique.”
As part of the wedding service plans, a special wedding breakfast menu has been designed by The Cleveland Tontine’s highly acclaimed head chef, Paul Bussey and will be served as the sit down meal on the day.
The Cleveland Tontine has taken the walk down the wedding industry route at the request of its customers over recent years.
Eric continued: “Many people who have dined at the Tontine over the years have asked us if we organise weddings or wedding receptions.
“We took them on at the time and because we did them well and received such great reviews, we saw the potential to develop this as part of our future business.”
Alice I’Anson Widdows, who enjoyed her big day at The Cleveland Tontine, said: “The first class service led on the night by ever smiling Marius, the attention to detail, exquisite fine dining and canapés, delicious wines, luxurious space, accommodating staff and comfortable rooms, all leant itself to a be an outstanding choice for a wedding venue.
“Most of my guests have written to thank me for the wedding and all have commented on the outstanding quality of the dining and venue that is the Tontine.”
The Cleveland Tontine can hold up to 90 guests and couples will have the choice of using one of two of its stunning reception rooms for the ceremony itself. Parties can also enjoy exclusive use of the highly commended Bistro as part of the wedding celebrations.
All packages offered by The Cleveland Tontine will be bespoke to suit the needs of each bride and groom.
