Screen Shot 2015-10-22 at 13.45.22County Durham Housing Group’s latest recruit will make sure investment to around 18,500 homes meets tenants’ aspirations.

Colin Kingshott joins the county’s largest housing association as Head of Assets to oversee the maintenance and improvement programme to the group’s property profile.

Originally from Fife Council, Colin came to England 16 years ago and has since served successful posts with Gateshead Council, Derwentside Homes and more recently livin.

He is now one of six new Heads of Service that have joined the group over the last month, as the organisation starts to fulfil its ‘We believe in life without barriers’ vision.

Colin said: “This is an exciting time for housing in County Durham, and for me a fantastic opportunity to join a newly formed team.

“I feel passionate that our tenants, along with our local landlords Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes, are part of the journey in not just maintaining bricks and mortar, but creating somewhere that people are proud to call home.”

County Durham Housing Group was established in April of this year following the transfer of ownership and management of homes from Durham County Council.
