People living and working in North Ormesby are being invited to a special event designed to generate ideas and design changes that the residents want to see in the area.
The ‘Your Choice North Ormesby’ event in Middlesbrough, is looking for as many people as possible in the community to come along and have their say on questions such as: ‘what works well now?’; ‘what’s missing from the community?’; and ‘what do you want to see in future?’
The partners running the event, including Thirteen and Middlesbrough Council, will work together with the residents to design and select the best developments.
Lyndsey Coe, senior neighbourhood manager from Thirteen, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for the community to come together and develop solutions that they feel will have a positive impact on the issues they have identified in their community.
“Throughout the event we’ll be encouraging participants to work together and generate as many ideas as possible for the community. They will then work through the suggestions to select the best ideas before coming to a decision on the selections for changes in the community.”
Running over three days, there will be a number of short activities and sessions on each day, all designed to encourage collaboration and action.
Lyndsey continued: “Each day will be split into short half-day sessions but people can come along for as much or as little as they like. You can book in for a half day, a whole day or even the whole thing.”
Anyone can book on and come along to any sessions which are being held from 9.30am to 12.30pm and 12noon to 2.30pm between Wednesday 28 to Friday 30 November at The Trinity Centre, North Ormesby. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
As a thank you for taking part there will be a cash payment and goodie bags for residents.
As well as the daily sessions, on Thursday 29 November there will be a family fun event with free face painting and snacks from 3pm till 4.30pm. All parents, carers and children living in North Ormesby welcome.
