An education awareness event comes to the recently opened Pact House in Stanley to give people advice on a range of topics.

Already open as a one stop shop for the community to access support and advice, the Pact House will play host to a range of multi-agency partners on Thursday 20 October.

Durham County Council’s trading standards and the neighbourhood protection, Durham Constabulary, Derwentside Homes and many more will be on hand to talk with people about community safety, housing, consumer protection, including loan sharks, and anti-social behaviour.

People are encouraged to come along, enjoy the refreshments and talk with officers who will offer support, guidance and information.

Anyone who can’t attend the education awareness day can still receive advice throughout the week as various information packs will be available until Friday 21 October.

Ian Hoult, Durham County Council’s neighbourhood protection manager, said: “We want to encourage people to come along to the event, talk with us and raise any concerns they may have within their community.”
