Sponsorship from a local company has helped a team of young footballers hit the back of the net.
Leven AFC Youth U12s Royals have started the 2018/19 season with a bang after winning four of their first five games and drawing the other. They have also won their first two cup games of the season.
While they are doing the talking on the pitch, they are being supported by Eton Environmental Group, a national health and safety building compliance company which has its head office in Darlington.
Eton provided £450 to buy the Royals’ strips for their new season in Division 3 of the Teesside Junior Football Alliance (TJFA) league.
They were approached for sponsorship by Lisa Hanrahan, who works as Accounts Manager at Eton but is also Secretary of the Royals. Her son, Caden, plays in the team.
She said: “Eton supports various organisations/charities across the UK as part of its corporate social responsibility programme, so I was delighted when they agreed to sponsor Leven this season.
“Like all youth football clubs, we are almost wholly reliant on sponsorship and fundraising, so we are very grateful to Eton for their support.
“The boys love the strip and have started the season very well, having only just been promoted to division 3.”
