Complimentary Webinar To Help North East Businesses Plan Their Way Out Of Lockdown

Jun 7, 2020

North East businesses are being invited to take part in a free online event designed to help them prepare their employees for coming back to work.

Hay & Kilner Law Firm’s specialist employment team is hosting a ‘Lifting The Lockdown’ lunchtime seminar via Zoom on Wednesday 10 June to help owner/managers address issues that could or will arise as the lockdown loosens and more businesses begin to reopen.

Topics under discussion will include ending furlough leave, how to deal with employees who are reluctant to/refuse to return, staff consultation, flexible ways of working and how to manage health and safety issues.

Participants will also be able to submit questions in advance relating to their own individual situations for the expert Hay & Kilner team to assess and answer.

The event is being held in association with management development consultants Weightman Associates, with CEO John Grant speaking on how owner/managers can have proactive and positive discussions with their employees about returning to work which help to give them the support and confidence they need to do so.

Sarah Hall, partner in the specialist employment team at Hay & Kilner Law Firm, says: “Every business is facing its own unique set of circumstances in getting its operations back up and running, and employers will understandably have a lot of questions about how everyone can get back to work safely.

“Our aim with this event is to explore the practical issues that companies are facing, examine their different options and responsibilities, and provide insight into the different types of solutions that they could look at for managing their own particular situation.”

Sarah Furness, partner in the employment team, adds: “Giving delegates the chance to get their questions answered will ensure they get practical benefits from taking part while also providing guidance for other participants who might have similar issues.

“Every type and size of North East business will be facing significant challenges over the coming weeks and months, and our aim is to help to equip them with the sort of knowledge and insight they’ll need to successfully overcome them.”

Places at Hay & Kilner Law Firm’s Lifting The Lockdown seminar, which will run via Zoom from 12.30pm to 2pm on Wednesday 10 June, are free, but must be reserved in advance.
