TRIBUTE artists are warming up their vocal cords in support of a worthy North-East end of life charity.
Performers will ‘back the Butterwick’ with special concerts at two venues in the area over the coming weeks.
Seventies ensemble M Town take to the stage on Friday, August 16, at Tindale Crescent Working Men’s Club, in Bishop Auckland , with a medley of toe-tapping hits from the decade of soul, flares, and afros.
The concert starts at 7pm, performing classics from Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Four Tops, The Drifters, Frankie Valli, Billy Ocean, Chaka Khan, and many more.
There will also be a Best 70s Fancy Dress competition, with a prize for the best entry, and a disco will follow the live music. Tickets cost £8 each.
A tribute to pop sensation Pink will take place the following week, on Sunday, August 25, at Shildon Civic Hall.
The Almost Pink Tribute Night will feature a selection of the superstar’s biggest tracks from a stellar career that has spanned two decades. Doors open at 7:30pm, and tickets cost £6 each.
Money raised by both events will go towards supporting the vital work of Butterwick Hospice Care, and tickets for both performances are available by contacting the fundraising team on 01388 603 003.
