Consulting engineers make key appointment to support healthcare sector growth

TGA Consulting Engineers (TGA), an expert provider of consulting engineering services, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, has made a senior appointment to support and grow its healthcare division.

Emma Marshall joins the business as national Healthcare Lead with over 15 years of experience and will be working on projects ranging from refurbishments to new builds for healthcare clients which include the NHS as well as private healthcare providers.

Her appointment comes as part of TGA’s planned growth in the sector which has seen a steep rise in contract wins in recent years, largely due to increased funding from the government in response to the stresses brought on by the recent pandemic.

TGA, which is headquartered in Durham has appointed Emma to work with existing clients, many of which have set carbon reduction targets ahead of 2025. Emma will also be tasked with developing relationships with architects and project teams to deliver carbon reduction, decarbonisation and carbon quantification projects across the region, in addition to assisting in a senior management role in TGA’s Newcastle office.

This is yet another key appointment for TGA in this burgeoning sector, which the firm expects to be one of the three key areas of growth for them alongside education and leisure.

Emma is joined by the newly appointed Will Powis, a senior electrical engineer who was recently taken on to support her  with the delivery of healthcare projects, these key appointments forming part of a recruitment masterplan to grow the business in the next 12 months.

Speaking of her new role, Emma said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining the team at TGA. They have a great reputation in the market and really look after their people. There is room to grow this division and with carbon net zero deadlines approaching, it’s an exciting time to be part of such a well-respected and forward-thinking company.”

Scott Graham, Director at TGA said: “Emma’s appointment represents a key milestone for us as a business. We are committed to helping our healthcare clients to deliver quality projects generally as well as meet their carbon net zero targets by fully understanding, quantifying and reducing carbon across their estates. There is a significant amount of planning to do right now that will require specific strategies to reach those targets and Emma brings a wealth of experience in this area.”
