A Houghton le Spring-headquartered home services company is celebrating a hat-trick of accolades after being recognised at a prestigious award ceremony.

Pacifica Group was celebrated at the 2019 North East Energy Efficiency Awards, winning two awards and receiving a commendation in another category.

Heating, insulation and renewables firm 0800 Repair, which forms part of Pacifica Group, won the Vulnerable Customer Support award and was commended in the Boiler and Heating Installer & Contractor category.

Oakes Energy Services, which provides design and installation services for renewable energy projects and is another subsidiary of Pacifica Group, also won the RHI (Renewable Heating Incentive) Installer of the Year award.

The North East Energy Efficiency Awards recognise the achievements of companies operating within the energy efficiency sector across the UK and their delivery of Government initiatives, including the renewable technology and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme.

0800 Repair has enjoyed a successful period, securing several new partnerships with local authorities across the region to support vulnerable people and tackle fuel poverty in the North East.

Since October 2017, 0800 Repair has delivered more than £5m of energy bill savings to households across the region, through the installation of more than 260 energy efficient home measures, including gas boilers, underfloor and cavity wall insulation.

Oakes has also been involved in several high-profile renewable energy projects over the course of the year, delivering significant savings to local authorities.

Pacifica Group delivered record revenues and growth in 2018, achieving a turnover of £36.1m – a 32% increase from the year before. It also saw its employee count increase to more than 470 staff, which includes a 250-strong network of engineers.

Erik Coates, Energy Services Director at Pacifica Group, said: “We have enjoyed great success across the Group in recent times, and these latest awards and recognition are testament to the hard work and dedication of our growing workforce.

“We are committed to tackling the worryingly-high fuel poverty crisis in the North East and our work with local authorities and other organisations to deliver energy efficient and cost-effective solutions will go a long way to help resolve this important issue.”

Erik added: “We are proud to have been recognised in the Energy Efficiency Awards, which regularly feature many of our industry’s leading players and organisations. Hopefully we will be celebrating further awards success in the future.”
