On Friday May 8, the Stadium of Light will be serving up a special menu, pairing five carefully crafted dishes with a selection of Laurent Perrier and Veuve Champagnes.
Guests at the Champagne Gourmet Evening, run by 1879 Events Management, will enjoy canapés and nibbles on arrival, served with a glass of Veuve Delaroy Brut.
The starter, of green pea and asparagus ravioli, will be accompanied by Laurent Perrier Brut, followed by an intermediate dish of confit of salmon and a glass of Laurent Perrier Vintage.
For the main course, the chefs at 1879 Events Management will use a variety of locally sourced and seasonal ingredients to deliver a rack of spring lamb with a mutton fritter, puree potatoes, heritage carrots, Brussel tops, leeks and lamb jus.
This will be served with a glass of Lauren Perrier Rose, chosen for its fresh, well-rounded flavour, with tastes of berries reminiscent of spring.
A classic combination of strawberries and Veuve Delaroy Rose Champagne will be offered for dessert, followed by a selection of artisan cheeses, coffee and petit fours.
