PROM kings and queens can now celebrate the end of their school days like royalty at one of the North East’s best loved castles.
Six-hundred-year-old Lumley Castle Hotel, Chester-le-Street, is lowering its drawbridge to school leavers with two special prom packages.
Guests can enjoy a red carpet arrival at the castle with photographers on hand to capture the event, before heading inside for reception drinks from a spectacular drinks fountain.
They will then be served either a formal three course dinner or a hot and cold buffet, with balloons and table decorations, while the prom king and queen will each be presented with a gift in honour of the occasion.
A candy buffet will be served after dinner and there will then be a disco, followed by fireworks for parties of more than 100 guests.
“Proms are very special as they mark the end of one stage of your life and the beginning of the next,” said Tina Lowes, director of sales at Lumley Castle, “and so they require a very special venue.
