An exciting exhibition of work celebrating the heritage and history of Middlesbrough, seen through the eyes of cycling, takes place at a top Middlesbrough gallery from the beginning of May.
Gallery TS1’s exhibition, a collection of painting, drawing, textile and photography submitted by local artists, reflects the timeless magic and inimitable style of the bicycle from its humble beginnings in 1817 to its twenty-first century equivalent. A vehicle of the classes, the bicycle has seen the world through innumerable changes in history and tradition, leading to a fascination and popularity that bridges the world like no other, and the gallery aims to celebrate its past and present appeal through the work of talented local artists.
Gallery TS1 welcomes the public to share the appeal of the bicycle’s through this fascinating exhibition. The gallery is open 10am and 4pm Monday to Saturday, and the exhibition runs from Saturday 7th May until Friday 3rd June. Admission is free.
