Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Digital expansion leads to raft of new jobs

A North East organisation is creating up to 30 new jobs in the region to support their digital expansion plans.

Home Group, one of the UK’s largest housing associations, is looking to get ahead of the curve in terms of its digital interaction with customers.

As part of its ambitious plans to ensure 90% of its customers can regularly use their digital accounts, the Gosforth-based business is significantly enhancing its IT and digital provision.

It is looking to recruit a range of experts, from website developers and information architects to app developers and DevOps Engineers.

Taya Allen, Digital Development Manager at Home Group, said: “We are going to be working at the cutting edge to ensure we reach our goals. That might surprise some people who don’t automatically associate housing associations operating at the forefront of new technology.

“But we are, and have been for some time, and we want to attract people who want to come with us on the fantastic journey.

“With such a large and diverse customer-base we need to ensure we’re supporting them in every way we can. This means thinking of new and innovative solutions that will directly impact people’s lives.

“Within our agile teams we tackle architecture, research, development, testing and more. We need people with ambition, fresh ideas and a passion for helping others to help shape the future of Home Group.”

The 30 positions, all of which are based in the North East, are set to be recruited over the next nine months and will play their part in the organisation’s wider strategy to position Home Group as leaders in digital innovation within the housing sector.

Home Group supports close to 120,000 customers across 55,000 properties in England and Scotland, which includes around 26,000 people with mental and physical health issues.

In May, Home Group was named one of the top 10 places to work in the UK and the best workplace in the North East, as well as being named the eighth best workplace for women in the UK in the Great Place to Work annual awards.
