North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Dobson & Parnell seals the deal with new business lunch

With two thirds* of office workers now eating ‘al desko’, a Newcastle restaurant has devised a new lunchtime menu aimed at business people working or visiting the city.

Dobson & Parnell on Newcastle Quayside is now serving a two-course business lunch with still or sparkling water and coffee for just £15, or three courses for £19.

The lunch is available from 12-2pm between Tuesday – Friday and features an exciting British and European menu with dishes including ham hock terrine pickled vegetables and mustard dressing to start, pan-fried black cod turnip puree, puffed wild rice, chilli and lime dressing and poached autumn fruits.

Troy Terrington, chef patron at the Dobson & Parnell said: “It’s amazing that two thirds of office workers eat their lunch at their desks when other countries like France and Italy treat it as an ideal business opportunity to discuss new ideas in an informal setting.  We hope that our new business lunch will encourage office workers to see the benefits of taking time out of their day to reflect and discuss new ideas, away from their desk.  It’s also great for staff morale and boosting sales with customers.  We hope our new menu will help them to make a habit of eating out instead of at their desks”.

Dobson & Parnell, which opened in December 2016 by the team who run Blackfriars Restaurant, is located within an elegant Victorian Grade II listed building on Queen Street, and is named after two of Newcastle’s Victorian architectural stalwarts, John Dobson and William Parnell, who designed the original building in 1863.  Chef Patron Troy Terringtion was previously head chef of Blackfriars and Jesmond Dene House.

The business lunch offer is not available in December but the restaurant has just launched its Christmas menu and is taking bookings for parties of up to 65 people.
