Local people are being reminded to have their say on future development in South Tyneside.
The council is currently consulting on its Strategic Land Review which will help to inform its new Local Plan.
The Local Plan will determine development over the next 20 years and will set out where homes, businesses, shops and leisure facilities will be built, whilst protecting our countryside, open spaces and historic environment.
All residents and businesses have until 31 July to give their views on the current draft assessments regarding potential suitability of land for future development.
Councillor Allan West, Lead Member for Housing and Transport, said: “This consultation is about planning for our future homes and jobs and we have had a very positive response so far.
“More than 300 potential sites across the Borough have been assessed as part of this process but it is important to stress that no decisions have been made at this stage.
“Preparation of the Local Plan is a collaborative process over several years so we would encourage people to share their views.”
