Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Early Christmas Present for Shoppers

Screen Shot 2015-11-19 at 09.42.07Car parking across Hambleton will once again be free every Thursday in the run up to Christmas.

There will be no charge to shoppers in all district council operated car parks every Thursday throughout December –  and each day from 25 December until 1 January.

“We hope ‘Free Thursdays’ 2015 will once again bring more shoppers into our market towns in the run up to the festive season,” said Councillor Nigel Knapton, Portfolio Holder for Support Services (pictured).

“It worked exceptionally welI last year – we had positive feedback from traders and shoppers alike. It is a huge boost to the towns at their busiest time of the year.

“But we do ask shoppers to remember that parking time limits still apply in our dedicated short stay only car parks in Thirsk Market Place and in Northallerton, the Applegarth short stay and Forum short stay.”

‘Free Thursdays’ were introduced two years following talks with business leaders in the market towns as well as with the Federation of Small Businesses.
