East Durham College is delighted to announce that once again it saw a great number of students from across the college’s provision progress on to study on higher education courses across the country.
Almost 150 students who had been studying on further education courses and A-levels at the colleges Peterlee campus, Houghall campus and sixth form have gone on to study a wide variety of higher education courses.
Students have gone on to study a on a range of degrees including, pharmacy, Law, criminology, artistic make-up and special effects, paramedic, advertising and TV production, nursing, sociology zoology and jazz, popular and commercial music studies to name a few.
And this has led to our former students from the college studying all over the country at institutions such as Durham University, Sheffield Hallam University, University of Gloucester, Birmingham City University, Manchester Metropolitan University and Stirling University amongst many more.
East Durham College principal, Suzanne Duncan hailed the news as a great reflection of the ongoing hard work by staff in the college to help students to reach their full potential.
Suzanne said: “This is fantastic news to hear for everyone across the college.
“Staff work so hard all year round to help students achieve top results on their courses and prepare them for the next step they look to take after leaving us.
“I am extremely proud to see so many students go on to higher education when they have completed their time with us, going on to study around the country.
