Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Easterside Partnership Family Fun Day 2016

The 2016 event takes place on Wednesday (August 17) from 11am to 3pm at Easterside Community Hub and around the shopping precinct and St Agnes Church in Broughton Avenue.

All are welcome to enjoy stalls, raffles, bouncy castles, face painting, go-karting, sports races and much more.
Funds raised through the Fun Day – generously supported through donations from local businesses, organisations and individuals – go towards
an annual family day out to Flamingo Land.

Last year’s event raised £1,757 on the day, with a further £700 donation from the Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner towards travel, £100 from Thirteen Group, and £120 from a bucket collection at the local Sainsbury’s store.
This month’s trip to Flamingo Land saw three coachloads with over 150 residents – including more than 100 children – enjoy a day out to remember.

Easterside Partnership Company Secretary Lesley Read-Watson said: “The community spirit of Easterside is second to none and the number of people for last year’s Family Fun Day was exceptional.

“It was a fantastic event which raised an amazing £ 2,677 on the day – the amount of support from volunteers and family members was overwhelming.

“It just goes to show what can be achieved when communities come together, put their worries aside and simply have fun together.”
