Eight intrepid employees from County Durham based Ebac are undertaking the Three Peaks challenge, carrying with them D’Humfrey, an Ebac dehumidifier weighing 13kg.
The team which ranges from age 18-60, will take on Scafell Pike in England, Ben Nevis in Scotland and Snowdon in Wales in a testing challenge to raise money for three chosen charities; Just a Drop, The Olivia Mae Foundation and Cancer Research UK.
The charities were chosen by Ebac staff. The Olivia Mae Foundation is particularly close to the heart of Ebac employees, it supports families during difficult periods when a child is ill and was founded by Pamela Petty past Ebac Managing Director.
Haydn Rees, the oldest member of the group, will be leading his team mates Helen Parkinson, Joanne Vipond, Matthew Cuthbert, James Shaw, Nathan Ward, Lee Higginbottom and Kelly Langham in training sessions to prepare for the gruelling challenge.
Former Royal Marine Haydn, said: “This challenge will be a demanding experience for the team especially with the added weight of the dehumidifier but, so far, one that that has also been a lot of fun.
“Each of the three chosen charities supports people in seemingly impossible situations in their lives and so our trek with D’Humfrey the dehumidifier is designed to illustrate the impossible being made possible.
