THE REDCAR and Cleveland Foundation for Jobs Partnership is hosting its third meeting at Redcar & Cleveland Leisure and Community Heart this week.
Taking place between 8:30am and 11:00am, with registration from 8am, on Friday, May 6, a wide range of employers and representatives from all of the Redcar and Cleveland’s secondary schools and colleges will be in attendance.
The convention will be discussing a proposal for a new ‘young people’s entitlement’ to ensure that young people are ready to enter the world of work.
Councillor Carl Quartermain, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Skills and Leisure at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council said: “I am pleased the Redcar and Cleveland Foundation for Jobs Partnership is continuing to grow and host meetings to achieve its vision that all young people have access to appropriate opportunities in education, training and employment.
“I would encourage as many organisations as possible to attend the convention.”
Chair, Professor Graham Henderson CBE DL said: “There is a real desire amongst both schools and employers to work together to support the young people of Redcar and Cleveland so that they are better equipped with the skills needed when moving on from school, and it is the Foundation’s aim to harness that enthusiasm and commitment to deliver both better outcomes for our young people and support the local economy.”
