Screen Shot 2016-03-21 at 11.34.04Passengers in Hartlepool and Teesside can make Easter even more ‘eggsciting’ this year with ‘cheeper’ travel opportunities across the region for families, plus a chance to win a basket full of Easter goodies.

Stagecoach North East has once again brought on board its popular offer for under 16s to travel for only 10p this Easter, which means great value trips to meet friends or celebrate with family over the holidays.

For last minute shopping in town, enjoying a family meal over the Bank Holiday, or visiting one of the many events in the area, Stagecoach North East is offering youngsters the opportunity to travel all day for just ten pence when they board with a full paying adult.

The region offers a wide range of attractions and places to experience this Easter, including eating out in Middlesbrough, visiting the wildlife at Saltholme Wildlife Reserve or fun or all the family at Stockton’s Hollywood Bowl. By simply purchasing on board a Teesside daytripper, Hartlepool dayrider or Teesside/Hartlepool dayrider plus, or showing a valid Megarider or Megarider Plus, from 25 March to 10 April, adults can travel with up to two under 16-year olds for just ten pence each, and up to four under five-year-olds can travel for free.

Stagecoach North East has also launched its holiday competition and to celebrate the company’s new look website, the local bus operator is asking its north east customers to hop on board the site for a chance to win one of seven Easter-themed baskets.

All participants need to do is to visit the recently updated website at www.stagecoachbus.com, answer one simple question and register their details. Included in the seven prize baskets are and Easter bunny soft toy, an Easter egg, chocolate mini eggs, Stagecoach branded freebies and a Stagecoach Megarider voucher.

The company, which has six depots across the north east, recently launched its new website, which makes it easier for customers to plan their journey and check on their bus service.

Marketing Manager, Helen Martin, Stagecoach North East said: “Hartlepool and Teesside offers families countless opportunities to have enjoyable days out, and we hope this excellent value ticket extends the family fun during the holidays, come rain or shine.

“The competition is also a great chance for all our north east customers to try their luck and have some fun during their early morning commute or trip to the shops. By checking out the new website, they may even win a week’s free travel as well as a selection of Easter treats.”

Stagecoach’s transformed website is already proving popular with customers, as the region third in the country for the number of site visits. As part of the new online platform, Stagecoach introduced the UK’s first nationwide online bus planning service, which enables passengers to see exactly when their bus is due at the stop and the stops and routes nearby, to help plan their journey more effectively. The competition closes on 10 April 2016 and winners will be selected randomly from all entries, with one entry per email address included.
