Flame Heating Spares is celebrating a landmark appointment, which has seen its workforce grow by 400% in just two years, on the back of continued investment and expansion.
The trade supplies firm now employs 20 staff following the appointment of Adam Callaghan, who will help oversee the running of Flame’s lead branch in Gateshead, which is on the site of its new head office, on the Team Valley Trading Estate.
In 2013, the company employed just four people and operated two trade counters, but, following the launch of its Stockton branch last December, the firm has increased its workforce four-fold and now has five outlets throughout the North East.
Adam, 35, previously spent 10 years in the Armed Forces before starting out in the industry as a driver and working his way up to management level at a national builders’ merchant.
Adam’s arrival follows the appointment of Simon Scott, who joined Flame as business development manager.

Established in 2011, Flame Heating Spares started out with a single branch in Team Valley, before expanding into Durham, South Shields, Sunderland and Stockton, as well as moving to a new head office in Gateshead, with more branch openings planned this year.
